My simple line art of a tree, silkscreen printed by hand on green recycled paper is a clean bold graphic in a flat retro style.
I sketched this cheerful tree from life... in Beautiful Downtown Burbank, right near the Disney Animation Studio. The fluid, flowing lines of the leaves are contained within a neat shape and the detail of the wood grain just begged to be scaled up. So I vectorized and enlarged my drawing, and had a film positive made. I coated a silkscreen with photo emulsion, let it dry overnight, then ran outside and let the sun burn the image from the film onto the screen.
I hand-pulled each print one by one on hydro-powered, petroleum free recycled paper, made in the US by the French family paper mill. The color is cool and contemporary but sort of Seventies, too. There's something bookish about this blotter paper color and my inky illustration.
