The Lounge

My retro silkscreen print features a playful line drawing of a lounge in rich red, bright white, and bold black.

I made this chaotic sketch in a hotel on a road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento. I enlarged the drawing and had a film positive made, one for each color, so I could screen print it by hand in these assertive, bright hues.

This print is full of Wild West detail: end tables with tall drinks, armless chairs and ottomans, potted plants, and of course in the upper left-hand corner, a chandelier made from a wagon wheel.
