My detailed travel sketches show the bridges of New York City’s five boroughs, silkscreen printed by hand in Prussian Blue over swirls and streaks of color on heavy white 11x14” cardstock. My illustrations show The Williamsburg Bridge (Brooklyn), Devil's Gate (the Bronx), the Ed Koch/Queensboro Bridge (Queens), Gapstow Bridge in Central Park (Manhattan) and the Staten Island Ferry.
They’re my unconventional take on a travel poster or a midcentury modern souvenir tea towel! Such a cool idea for a gift -- personal and one of a kind!
This is #11 and features swirls pf bright green. I made these prints one at a time by pushing acrylic paint through the mesh with a squeegee. I mix additives with the colors to get all these unique textures, and every print is unique.
