The Five Boroughs #57

My stylized, stylish and carefully observed sketches of New York City landmarks, printed entirely by hand in water-based sunset colors on recycled cardstock. Such a cool idea for a gift -- personal and one of a kind!

These silkscreen prints include the Williamsburg Bridge (Brooklyn) with the sun behind it; Devil's Gate (The Bronx) and a row of houses; the Queensboro/Ed Koch Bridge (Queens) with the Unisphere; Gapstow Bridge (Manhattan) in Central Park; and a ferry (Staten Island) with the Manhattan skyline.

My unusual screenprints remind me of time-lapse photography, where the sky and sea seem to rush past while constructed objects hold still. They're also a nod to those mid-century modern souvenir tea towels!
